Manuscripts submitted by the authors are subject to a preliminary screening based on the appropriateness of the theme and quality of the content of the manuscript. Manuscripts that are not according to the author guidelines will be returned to the author without processing further.
Those manuscripts that pass the initial screening undergo a double-blind
peer-review process. Three reviewers in the same or related field are assigned
by
the
Editor in Chief in consultation with the Coordinating Editor to carry out the
review process
based on the evaluation criteria. Based on the evaluation report of the
reviewers, the
Editor in Chief and the editorial team then make a final decision on the acceptance
or
rejection of the paper.

the
SUJCS are Open Access articles published under the Creative Commons CC BY-SA License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ ).
The
authors grant SUJCS a license to
publish the article and identify itself as the original publisher. This license permits
use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided it is licensed under the same
terms and the original work is properly cited.
All authors must disclose any financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work. Authors should complete the declaration of interest statement using this template and upload it to the submission system at the step, Attach/Upload Files. If there are no interests to declare, please choose: 'Declarations of interest: none' in the template. This statement will be published within the article, if it is accepted.
Each manuscript should be submitted via e-mail to the email address, SUJCS@sab.ac.lk attached to a covering letter confirming that the original research is not submitted for any publication or is not already published elsewhere.
You can use this list to carry out a final check of your submission before you send it to the journal for review.
One author has been designated as the corresponding author with contact details:
It is important that the file should be saved in the native file format of the word processor used. The text should be in single-column format. Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. Most formatting codes will be removed and replaced on processing the article.
It is mandatory to include the source files during the initial submission of your manuscript in the system.
Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following style rules. Deviation from these rules causes publication delays. Manuscripts should be double-spaced throughout on one side of 8.5 x 11-inch or A4 white paper. Number all pages consecutively and organize the paper as follows.
Submit a short (maximum 100 words) biography of each author, along with a passport-size photograph accompanying the other figures. Please provide the biography in an editable format (e.g. Word), not in PDF format.
The manuscript should contain the items mentioned hereunder.
Title, List of authors together with affiliations
The language of the manuscript must be in English (British standard).
The length of the paper should be between 7000 - 10000 words (including the list of references and annexures) and any paper contains more than 10000 words will be rejected. Articles should be typed using 12 font size (Times New Roman) in 1. 5 space on one side of A4 paper with normal margins (Top 1”, Bottom 1”, Left 1” and Right 1”). Authors are urged to write as concisely as possible, but not at the expense of clarity.
The Title page is a separate page before the text. It should include the following information:
The title should be concise and informative. Abbreviations and formulae should be avoided where possible.
Indicate the initials and then the last name of the author/s. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name and the e-mail address of each author.
Indicate who is willing to handle correspondence at all the stages of refereeing, publication, and also post-publication. Ensure that the telephone numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the full postal address.
A concise and factual abstract is required (maximum length of 250 words). The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results, and the major conclusions. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. References should be avoided in the abstract.
Immediately after the abstract, a maximum of 5 keywords, avoiding general and plural terms and multiple concepts (Ex:'and', 'of') should be provided. Keywords should be presented. The keywords should be arranged in alphabetical order.
This section should be concise, with no sub-headings, and should provide a background to the research problem/s, present the research problem/s with sufficient justification/s and objective/s.
This section should provide a sufficient evaluation of the theoretical/empirical literature to identify the knowledge gaps.
This section should contain adequate and detailed information of all the procedures and steps followed.
This section should describe the results and the outputs of the research work.
This section should clearly explain the important conclusions of the work highlighting its significance, relevance and values.
Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Sub-sections should be numbered as 1, 2, 3.... and then 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2 etc. The abstract is not included in the section numbering. All headings of sub-sections should be bold.
The tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic Numerals in order of appearance in text. Type each table double-spaced on a separate page with a short descriptive title directly above and include essential footnotes below. Authors should submit complex tables as a camera-ready copy.
Numbers for the displayed equations should be placed in parentheses at the right margin. References to the equations should use the format "Eq. (3)" or simply"(3)".
Figures should be in a finished form suitable for the publication. Number the figures with Arabic numerals, and indicate the top and the authors on the back of each figure. Lettering on drawings should be in professional quality or shold be generated by high-resolution computer graphics and must be large enough to withstand appropriate reduction for publication. Figures should not be embedded in the text. Digital artwork of at least 300 dpi resolution is accepted in eps or TIFF formats. Please visit our Web site at https://www.elsevier.com/artwork-and-media-instructions for detailed instructions on preparing electronic artwork.
If the research is sponsored or supported by an organization, please indicate it.
Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text. If these references are included in the reference list. They should follow the standard referencing style of the journal and should include a substitution of the publication date with either 'Unpublished Results' or 'Personal Communication'. Citation of a reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication.
As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list.
This journal encourages you to cite underlying or relevant datasets in your manuscript by citing them in your text and including a data reference in your Reference List. Data references should include the following elements: author name(s), dataset title, data repository, version (where available), year, and global persistent identifier. Add [dataset] immediately before the reference so we can properly identify it as a data reference. The [dataset] identifier will not appear in your published article
Each manuscript should be submitted by e-mail, SUJCS@sab.ac.lk attached to a covering letter confirming that it describes original research not submitted for publication or already published elsewhere.
You can use this list to carry out a final check of your submission before you send it to the journal for review.
